Crispy edges, spicy sauce and cheese that melts in your mouth – an original Italian pizza can really make you happy. The good news: You do not necessarily have to travel to Italy for this! We searched for the city’s best pizzas in Cottbus and asked our community on Facebook and Instagram about their favorites – and got clear answers. The ranking is based on the evaluation of the votes on our Facebook and Instagram channels and is not representative. Here is the result:
5th place: Ristorante Roma
Ristorante Roma is located near the Cottbuser Altmarkt, on Marktstraße 7. For a classic pizza salami (32 cm in diameter), pay 7.80 euros in the Italian restaurant. Rome is open daily from 11:00 until 14:30 and from 17:00 until midnight.
What makes the pizza at Ristorante Roma so special? “We have the best flour. It is a special variant that I do not want to reveal, says chef Gurmail Multani. And “of course, the pizza originally comes from the stone oven.” According to the Roma chef, one of the most popular pizzas in the house is the “Feta con salmone e zucchini” pizza, topped with feta, salmon fillet, zucchini and onions.
Ristorante, which has been in Cottbus since 1992, also offers a delivery service – from an order value of 50 euros. Pre-order / pick-up is possible at any time.
In addition to the variety of pizza, the menu is also very sumptuous: you have the choice between soups, salads, antipasti, pasta, risotto, gnocchi, vegetarian dishes, meat dishes, fish and dessert.
On Google, Ristorante Roma is rated 4.2 out of 5 stars.
Ristorante Amarone is located right by the Altmarkt in Cottbus. It is open from Monday to Sunday from 11:00 to 23:00.
A salami pizza with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese costs 9 euros. Amarone offers a variety of starters, salads and soups as well as a selection of pasta and meat dishes on the menu. The Italian restaurant has an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on Google.
Above all, the guests praise the friendly staff, the atmosphere and – of course – the delicious food. One woman writes: “We visited friends in Cottbus and went to Amarone Ristorante with them. A really cozy little Italian with a good menu and very tasty dishes. You can eat very well there and spend a very nice evening. “
Trattoria Il Sardo on the corner of Petersilienstraße and Friedrich-Ebert-Straße in Cottbus Mitte came in third in our pizza survey. From Tuesday to Friday you can get Italian delicacies from 11:00 to 14:30 and from 17:00 to 22:00. Saturday and Sunday it is open from 17. It is a day of rest on Mondays. A salami pizza (30-31 cm in diameter) costs 11 euros. A delivery service is currently offered.
Chef Mario Spada: “We make sure that only the best ingredients are used on and in the pizza, and start with the flour. That’s the main thing. “
Our restaurant tester was also a guest at Trattoria Il Sardo and took a closer look at the food, the service and the atmosphere. The Italian restaurant has an average rating of 4.6 stars on Google.
The pizzeria “Da Nando” on Deffkestraße 10 has many fans and thus secured second place in the survey. In addition to delicious pizzas, there is also a lot to see here – for example pictures with FC Energie Cottbus players, actors and other celebrities who have already eaten at Da Nando. The restaurant is open from Monday to Thursday from 17:30 until 22:30. On Fridays and weekends, the pizza oven heats up from 11:30 to 14:00 and from 17:30.
“We have pizza like in Naples,” says chef Aniello “Nando” Navarra. His secret? Grandpa’s recipe! “He also made pizza.” On Google, guests rate the pizzeria with an average of 4.4 out of 5 possible stars.
Trattoria Pasta E Vino in the Sielow district of Cottbus received the most approval in our pizza survey. The restaurant was opened in November 2020 by Corbelia Falsone and her husband Domenico on Briesener Weg. Closed on Mondays, open Tuesdays to Sundays from 12.00 to 22.00. There is no delivery service, table reservations and food for collection are always possible. For a classic pizza salami (30 cm in diameter), the guest pays 8.90 euros.
Why is pizza at Pasta E Vino so popular? “We have our own pizza sauce and work exclusively with fresh products,” says owner Corbelia Falsone. The pizzas are traditionally baked in a stone oven, which makes them “really crispy”. The restaurant is also a family business. Corbelia Falsone: “My husband has 30 years of experience as a pizza baker, he comes from Sicily.” That is why the house’s special pizza is “Pizza die Scaccia” – named after the Sicilian place of origin of the pizza baker. The pizza is topped with anchovies, olives, capers, onions and pecorino (cheese made from pure sheep’s milk).
And what do the participants in the survey say? “There you are served Olympus by a pizza and all that in a super nice atmosphere,” writes an obvious fan on Instagram.
