How to bake crispy rolls for Sunday breakfast – and you have all the ingredients at home!

Finally Sunday – for many this means: Finally it’s time again for a relaxed breakfast with the family. The problem: For many, it is a challenge to just go to the bakery on a lazy Sunday. It’s good that rolls are not difficult to bake … even the most inexperienced hobby baker can do it! Especially with this recipe: Only ingredients that everyone has in the pantry go into it. And after a short time, the hot cakes are on the table.

Bake fresh rolls yourself: With this recipe, it’s guaranteed to work

The advantage: While many bread and roll doughs have to rise for a long time, sometimes even overnight, these rolls can even be conjured up at the last minute. They only need to rest covered for about 20 minutes before frying. If you want, you can process it with grain or replace half of the flour with rye flour – depending on what the cabinet has to offer. Here comes the delicious recipe.

You will need: 500 grams of wheat flour, 325 milliliters of water, 1 bag of dry yeast, 1 teaspoon of salt.

And this is how it works: The lukewarm water is poured into a small bowl, the dry yeast is sprinkled on the surface of the water. Then wait a moment until the yeast is activated. Mix flour and salt in a large mixing bowl and add the yeast water. Use a hand mixer, hands or food processor, kneaded to a smooth dough – at least five minutes, until it pulls away from the bowl.

Then flour the work surface and place the dough on it. Form into a roll and divide into ten equal pieces. Form into bowls and place them on a baking tray with baking paper. Cut lengthwise, cover with a clean kitchen towel and leave to rise for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, preheat the oven (200 degrees circulating air). Important: When the oven has warmed up, place a refractory dish with some water on the bottom of the oven. The steam makes the crust nice and crispy. Put the tray in the oven and bake the bowls for 25 minutes. Take out and let cool a bit – they are an absolute treat both hot and cold. Enjoy the meal!
